Vibra is a painting that was born during a live-painting session with the group Vibra.Artes, whose name and concept inspired me to look for creativity in places that had previously gone unnoticed. The energy present in the group encouraged me to delve even deeper into my own creative universe.
This work presents, in a playful and almost childlike way, a figure that expresses an intense desire for movement, but paradoxically remains static and rigid in its position, as if stuck in a moment suspended in time. Although the painting is full of life, the figure appears to be “dead”, frozen in its state. However, the desire for movement is palpable, manifesting itself through rays of energy that transform into patterns and contrast with the earth-toned background.
The figure, created from my imagination, was inspired by a person dancing kuduro, capturing the vibrant and energetic force of this dance, deeply rooted in our Afro-culture. Through this painting, I tried to convey not only the movement, but also the soul and energy that the group and this vibrant cultural expression evoke.
