The Ancestral Wireless Connection collection aims to reflect on the form of wireless communication and spiritual guidance with our ancestry, by preserving the memory of our culture and absorbing fundamental knowledge for our growth.
This collection is a unique idea that appeals to the appreciation of the endogenous elements of Angolan culture, the acceptance of cultural fact from our roots and traditions, ostracised by the long colonial night, where art functions as a wireless channel.
At a time of revisiting history and its painful memories, art is a gentle language that allows us to interpret and reinterpret, record and remember that communication, as it is present today wirelessly, has always existed long before the pre-colonial period, at a very high spiritual and physical level in Angolan society in particular, and in African society in general.
The works in the Ancestral Wireless Connection collection were produced in acrylic on printed paper from an official catalogue for FENACULT - the National Festival of Culture, organised by the Angolan Ministry of Culture in 2014.
