Samson Toba

Samson Toba Oladosu is a talented artist born in the southwest of Nigeria, in Ibadan, Oyo State. He completed both his secondary and tertiary education in Ibadan, laying the foundation for a rich artistic career. Samson has participated in various exhibitions and art competitions in Nigeria, and his works have been widely collected and enjoyed by notable art collectors in the country.

Samson's passion for children and women, as well as his childhood experiences and memories, serve as an inexhaustible source of inspiration for his art. He believes that women are vulnerable and sees them as gods, often painting them as a subject in his work. According to him, "there is this thing you see when you look at women's eyes, the connection and vibration you feel whenever you stay closer to them."

Samson's use of colors to create human figures with depth and meaning is a testament to his skills as a creator. He considers himself a full-time practicing studio artist, working alongside the well-known and talented artist Oluwole Omofemi. Samson draws inspiration from artists such as Pablo Picasso, Tolu Aliki, Oluwole Omofemi, and Eric Centeno.

For Samson, art is part of his voice and a tool to solve difficulties in society, conveying powerful messages to correct irregularities in the human world. His "Abstract Realism" works aim to create influential meaning with his artistic skill around the contemporary world.

In his artist statement, Samson sees art as a capable means of providing answers to many questions in society and providing solutions. He focuses on visual clarifications of the link between children and women's innocence and the resultant vulnerabilities. Samson's work is a reflection of his deep passion for using art to create a better world.
