This artwork captures the essence of the life journey, where we encounter individuals who perceive us through their own lenses, each projecting their version of who we should be. Yet, amidst their influences and attempts to shape our identity, the piece stands as a powerful affirmation of authenticity and self-acceptance—an unyielding declaration of truth: I am love.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Francis Jeremiah

Francis Jeremiah's work delves into the relationship between man and nature, using cool and earth tones on large canvases featuring lone figures. Inspired by his childhood in Kaduna, Nigeria, he incorporates leaves as hair in his subjects, symbolizing productivity and fruitfulness.

After earning a Higher National Diploma from Auchi Polytechnic, Francis experimented with styles before adopting floral patterns as a signature element. These florals and butterflies around his subjects' faces represent beauty, growth, and life's impermanence.

Now based in Sagamu, Nigeria, Francis advocates for preserving green spaces through his art, highlighting the need for trees and plants in an increasingly urbanized world.
