About The Artwork

Collection: Songs of Solomon

A collection that aims to materialise King Solomon's most romantic and profound poems towards his beloved Shulamite, and his beloved towards him!

In the biblical scriptures, Song of Songs is unique in that it celebrates sexual love. It gives voice to two characters who praise each other and invite each other to mutual pleasure. The same book serves as an antidote to the perverse, corrupted and confused world about love, romance and sex.

I hope that the observers experience the same feelings as Solomon, his passion, love, affection, appreciation and surrender that he had for his beloved, and his beloved for him! And may each observer identify with these same feelings!

I say I will climb the palm tree and lay hold of its fruit. Oh may your breasts be like clusters of the vine, and the scent of your breath like apples... (Song of Solomon 7:8)

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Edilson Peregrino

Peregrino began his artistic journey with realistic graphite pencil drawings, a technique he perfected until 2022. In December of the same year, he expanded his range to include acrylic paintings on canvas, a medium he continues to explore to this day. Inspired by historical masters of art such as Caravaggio and Picasso, as well as contemporary artists, Peregrino finds his greatest source of inspiration in life itself. He firmly believes that the human being, a divine creation, is one of the most intriguing and inspiring phenomena.
