In many cases, stories of love were related to absence of the beloved and a hidden tendency on the lover's part to have his beloved enveloped in a cloud of absence. But her vivid presence would be shinning again, even stronger, through that same cloud, in his imagination.
For love often withers in the presence of the beloved, then blooms in her absence. And her platonic image, that is done aimlessly, by a brush loaded with passion, will come to life white and pure.
