Mariam El Sayed Bakry

Born in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1999, the artist graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Painting Department, in 2023. With a dedication to both creating and teaching art, they have worked as an art instructor and participated in numerous prestigious exhibitions. Notable showcases include the Dai Art Gallery for Graduates, the Mahmoud Saeed Museum Art Gallery (2023), the Youth Visual Arts Exhibitions (2023 and 2024), the 2nd Art Visual Exhibition at Borg El Arab (Egypt-Japan University), and the Russian Institution Art Gallery (2022). Their work was also featured in the second edition of Cairo Artweek in Sheikh Zayed.

The artist's work delves into themes of human connection and community, often using the act of sharing a meal as a central motif. In their paintings, the table becomes more than a mere setting; it transforms into a stage where individual stories and emotions converge, creating a rich tapestry of interaction. Through this symbolic lens, they evoke a sense of nostalgia and unity, celebrating shared experiences and the bonds that connect us.

Their creative process is deeply rooted in spontaneity and subconscious expression, with each brushstroke reflecting inner thoughts and emotions. By capturing moments of connection, their art highlights the beauty of shared humanity and the profound sense of belonging found in collective experiences.
