Danick Bumba
Daniko Kitsissa Bumba (b. 1997), professionally known as Danick Bumba, is an Angolan visual artist, curator, and cultural producer whose work merges social impact with striking realism. Based in Luanda, his practice spans hyper-realistic drawing, contemporary portraiture, and youth art education, positioning him as one of the most dynamic voices in Angola’s emerging art scene.
Originally trained in Mining Engineering at Agostinho Neto University and a former language teacher of French and English, Danick eventually redirected his path toward the visual arts. His commitment to realism and hyperrealism is both technical and humanistic — portraying faces, emotions, and stories that speak directly to Angolan identity and contemporary African life.
In 2019, he founded Ateliê Belnique, a socially driven art initiative with the mantra “Art is Our Language and the World is Our Family.” The project trains young Angolan artists, promotes access to art education, and builds community through artistic language. Danick’s dual role as an artist and mentor has positioned him at the intersection of creativity and empowerment.
A member of the National Union of Plastic Artists (UNAP) and formerly part of the Brigade of Young Plastic Artists (BJAP), Danick is part of a new generation of artists redefining contemporary Angolan art through social engagement, technical mastery, and visionary leadership.
