"I love painting because it gives me pleasure while doing it in addition to the inspiration I receive. For me it is a joy to use my art to express the occurrences of life."

Bello Gabriel

Bello Gabriel (b. April 12, 1988, Nigeria) is a full-time Nigerian impressionist painter whose vivid, emotionally resonant works explore the rhythms of everyday life through expressive brushwork and layered storytelling. A graduate of Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech), Gabriel brings technical mastery and narrative clarity to his distinctive visual language.

Working primarily within impressionism and figurative expression, Bello uses his brush as a tool for documentation and empathy. His paintings capture the struggles, hopes, and quiet resilience of people navigating the complexities of contemporary society. His subjects emerge from a palette rich in blue and orange tones, lending a signature vibrancy and energy to his compositions.

For Gabriel, impressionism is more than a stylistic choice — it is a form of self-expression, introspection, and liberation. While he occasionally explores realism, he consistently returns to the fluidity and emotional immediacy that impressionism offers.

His works are noted for their textural depth, visual rhythm, and ability to speak across cultural boundaries. Through light, colour, and form, Bello invites the viewer into scenes that feel both intimately personal and universally human.

Bello Gabriel’s paintings have reached collectors far beyond Nigeria, including notable acquisitions in the United States, a testament to the global appeal of his vision. With each brushstroke, he continues to build a practice rooted in identity, memory, and the power of visual storytelling.
