Aimable Mugabo

Aimable Mugabo, born on November 7th, 1997, in the vibrant city of Kigali, Rwanda, is currently based in Poland. He is a versatile artist whose creative endeavors span a variety of media, showcasing his diverse talents.

Mugabo's artistic repertoire encompasses an array of techniques and materials, with a particular focus on paintings and paper crafts. His artworks are distinguished by their impeccable finish and tactile qualities, reflecting his meticulous approach to his craft.

In his artistic exploration, Mugabo delves into the realms of abstract and storytelling, infusing a nostalgic essence into his works. He meticulously examines the dynamics of beauty and imperfection, using a rich palette of colors and shapes. He pushes the boundaries of artistic spectacle, challenging our preconceptions of what art means to each individual viewer.

Rather than presenting a straightforward depiction of reality, Mugabo weaves illusions that transport us into the landscapes of our own imaginations. His practice also embodies a commitment to nature conservation by ingeniously utilizing recycled materials, such as newspapers, and incorporating modern design techniques to craft exquisite handmade creations.

In 2018, Aimable Mugabo achieved a significant milestone with his first solo exhibition, marking a noteworthy moment in his artistic journey.

Beyond his artistic pursuits, Mugabo is actively engaged in community outreach and education. He has conducted various workshops in Toruń, collaborating with institutions such as Dom Kultury and the EMIC Foundation. His passion for art extends to engaging with diverse audiences, including the visually impaired community, kindergartens, and primary schools. Furthermore, he has lent his artistic talents to the world of literature by illustrating children's tales, exemplified by his work on "Ant Mur and Other Ants."

Aimable Mugabo's artistic odyssey is a captivating blend of creativity, craftsmanship, and a profound commitment to both the environment and the enrichment of his community.
