Resem Verkron

Resem Verkron was born in Luanda, Angola, in 1999. His journey in the visual arts began in September 2015 when he became a part of the Verkron Collective. This was the starting point for his mystical quest to discover the essence of the whole, a spiritual path he embarked upon. Initially, Resem delved into the world of graffiti, and by mid-2017, he found his passion for photography.

Today, Resem Verkron is a versatile artist, exploring various forms of artistic communication. He experiments with his unique language within the realm of "emotional Afro-futurism," deeply connected to his experiences as a young Angolan. His artistic journey takes him from the realms of experimental cinema to the realms of alternative music.

In 2019, he expanded into the audiovisual universe, initially focusing on video art. His talent and dedication caught the eye of Kamy Lara, who invited him to be an assistant director and cameraman for the documentary "Funkin Globo." Towards the end of that same year, he joined the production company Geração 80, where he dedicated himself to further studies and started working on upcoming projects. This involved directing photography for music videos and short films. In October of the same year, he made a significant step by releasing his first electronic music EP entitled "Futurismo Emocional" on SoundCloud.

The year 2022 marked Resem Verkron's entrance into the Angolan audiovisual scene with remarkable accomplishments. He made a notable presence by participating in various projects, offering a fresh and experimental artistic language. During this year, he launched himself into the audiovisual market with numerous productions, films, and even a television series, all while serving as a director of photography. Throughout his creative journey, Resem Verkron remains dedicated to portraying Luanda with authenticity, capturing "the truth" of the city.
