Papino Simão Mbongo, known by Bolondo, was born on May 9, 1990, in Maquela do Zombo. It was during his formative years that the spark of passion for the visual arts ignited within him, setting him on a remarkable artistic journey.

In his early adolescence, Bolondo dedicated himself wholeheartedly to the world of art, commencing with the intricate craft of drawing and painting comics. Remarkably, by the tender age of 12, he had already mastered this art form, showcasing his innate talent and dedication.

Like many of his compatriots, Bolondo's youth was shaped by the tumultuous backdrop of the Angolan civil war. His family sought refuge in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he spent significant portions of his formative years. It was during this time that Bolondo's artistic spirit continued to flourish.

In 2005, Bolondo achieved a significant milestone by earning his degree in painting from the renowned Académie des Beaux-Arts in Kinshasa. Following his academic pursuits, he embarked on a captivating journey working in a painting workshop. This pivotal experience served as a crucible for his artistic growth, nurturing his talent and expanding his horizons.

Within the workshop, Bolondo's artistic prowess blossomed, captivating the hearts and minds of the diverse clientele who encountered his creations. His distinctive works left an indelible impression, forging connections and sparking conversations through art.

Today, Bolondo stands as a luminary in the world of contemporary art, boasting an impressive portfolio of both solo and group exhibitions.
