Daniel Gyekyi Gyan is a Ghanaian contemporary artist born in the Greater Accra Region. His artistic journey began in childhood, nurtured through formal education at Salem Senior High School in Accra and further refined at the prestigious Ghanatta College of Art and Design. Today, Daniel is recognized for his distinctive style and emotive compositions, working full-time from his Gyekyi-D Art Studio.
Using a unique technique that blends acrylic paint and modeling paste, Daniel applies intricate strokes with a palette knife, resulting in rich textures and dimensional surfaces. His figures are expressive and tactile, their features emerging through layers of material with striking visual depth. Each painting conveys a powerful presence, imbued with honesty, warmth, and raw emotional energy.
Daniel’s practice is rooted in African identity and community storytelling.
