Dennis Onofua

Dennis Onofua is a multidisciplinary artist from Lagos, Nigeria, known for his unique fusion of abstract and figurative expressionism. A graduate of Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State, Onofua specializes in painting, using a diverse range of mediums such as acrylics, oils, charcoal, watercolors, and newsprints to explore the complexities of the human form and condition. His work delves into the dynamic relationship between modern and contemporary art, blending lines and colors through multimedia techniques to create thought-provoking and visually captivating pieces.

Since beginning his professional journey in 2018, Onofua has focused on the human form, using abstracted facial expressions and fluid postures to depict the emotional and existential experiences of humanity. His figures, often portrayed with a sense of vulnerability and disconnection, celebrate the diversity and multifaceted nature of the human spirit. Onofua’s art challenges traditional techniques and preconceived notions, aiming to foster a deeper understanding of the human condition.
