This work is a tribute to Sogolon Kedjou, mother of the founder of the Mandingo empire. Africa is a matriarchy, a society governed by the feminine, not as domination over the masculine, but as a form of social order characterised by respect, fraternity and the common good, in which women play a central role.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Sisay

Through painting, Arnulfo found a means to confront his fears, exorcise inner demons, and unleash his creativity. His artwork became a canvas for depicting social injustices, particularly the historical scourge of slavery, one of humanity's most egregious offenses. Arnulfo's art is a personal odyssey, a journey through an inner world uniquely his own.
