This work represents the bay of Luanda, where the first carnival parades took place, the marathons, where Angolans stroll. This bay brings back many wonderful memories. Most of the time, my father would take me for a walk in the bay to collect junipers, shells, crabs and other things. There was a kiosk at the Sonangol petrol station where they sold ice creams and crisps. The kiosk was one of our stops during our tour. There was also the Rialto restaurant, which many people loved to frequent in this very part of the bay.  Luanda Bay is a witness to many laughs. I was inspired by my childhood, by my memories."

At just three years old, she was introduced to the world of painting, inspired and guided by her father, Paulo Jazz, who continues to serve as her mentor and teacher. Joyce's artistic style is characterized by Cubism, although she possesses a keen willingness to explore various other artistic styles and mediums, including ceramics, for which she pursued formal training.
